Moving beyond basic customer lists, this powerful report enables you to automatically categorize your customers into strategic segments based on their purchasing behavior and engagement levels. The REPORTiT – Advanced Reporting for WooCommerce plugin allows you to identify your high-value VIPs, loyal repeat buyers, and at-risk customers. It can help you to create targeted retention campaigns, personalize marketing messages, and proactively prevent customer churn, ultimately maximizing customer lifetime value and driving sustainable business growth.
How to get a customer segment in the REPORTiT plugin?
Generating the Customer Segments Report is simply possible in Three Steps:
- Access the Segment Report: Navigate to Customers > Customer Segment

- Set the Date Range: Use the Date and Time filter to define the period for your analysis

- Configure Segment Settings: This is the core of the report, where you define what qualifies a customer for each segment. You must specify the rules that automatically categorize your customers:
- Lost After (x) Days: Specify the number of days since a customer’s last purchase after which they are considered “Lost.” This helps identify customers who have likely churned.
- At Risk After (x) Days: Set the number of days of inactivity after which a customer is considered “At Risk,” allowing for proactive re-engagement campaigns before they become lost.
- VIP Spend At Least ($): Define the minimum total spend required for a customer to be classified as a VIP. For example, setting this to $543 will identify your most valuable customers.

Once you adjust the settings, the report automatically generates a detailed table showcasing the performance of each dynamically created customer segment.
This comprehensive table provides a clear breakdown for each customer type, allowing you to compare their performance at a glance.
The segments typically include:
- VIP Customers: Clients with the highest lifetime value who meet your defined spending threshold.
- Single-Order Customers: Users who have only made one purchase and have not returned.
- Repeat Customers: Clients who have made two or more purchases, indicating loyalty.
- At-Risk Customers: Previously loyal customers who haven’t purchased recently (Your defined threshold) and may be lapsing.
- Lost Customers: Clients who have passed your defined inactivity period and are considered churned.
- Joined Last Month: Newly registered users who created an account in the previous calendar month.
- Registered Customers: All users who have created an account on your store, regardless of purchase activity.
Each segment is analyzed across several key metrics:
- Type: The name of the customer segment (e.g., VIP, At-Risk).
- Customers: The number of customers who fall into this segment.
- Orders: The total number of orders placed by this segment.
- Revenue: The total income generated from this customer group.
- AOV (Average Order Value): The average amount spent per order for the segment.
- LTV (Lifetime Value): The total net revenue generated per customer in this segment over their lifetime.

The table is fully adaptable to your needs. You can:
- Show or hide columns from an available list to focus on the metrics that matter most to you.
- Use the search function to quickly find a specific segment or customer name within the segments.
- Download the complete segment report in popular formats like CSV or Excel.
