Analyzing sales by country report with the WooCommerce report plugin

In this tutorial, we want to show you how easily you can generate sales by country report in the WooCommerce report plugin. However, before going through the simple steps to create this report, let’s see the sales by country report and why you need it.

What is sales by country report?

A sales by country report is a table or chart helping managers to track the information about orders in different countries. This report gives an insight into below information:

  • How many orders have been placed in different countries?
  • What is the total amount of orders placed in each country?
  • Which country has the most refunded orders?
  • Etc.

Why do store managers need to analyze sales by country report?

Suppose you are managing an international business and trying to sell goods in different countries worldwide. In that case, it is very important to recognize in which country you have more profit or in which one you need to utilize promotional and marketing plans to increase your sales.

How to generate sales by country report?

The WooCommerce report plugin enables you to analyze sales by country reports with different methods.

Directly generate WooCommerce orders by country report

To receive an order by country report, go to the below address in our plugin dashboard:

Orders > Order/Country

click order country menu

Then you need to set a range date in the search form, as illustrated below:

Finally, you can see the report by clicking on the Search button.

As you may notice in the below picture, in this report, you can find a list of countries with some useful information about the orders placed in each one, including:

  • Number of items sold.
  • Net sale.
  • Coupon.
  • Shipping: Total amount spent for shipping ordered goods to each country.
  • Refunds: Total amount of refund orders.
  • Final sale amount: Total amount of all orders in each country.

A summary report is also available at the bottom of the page.

Generate all WooCommerce orders report and filter countries

Another way to generate sales by country report in the WooCommerce report plugin is to create all orders first, then filter the countries you want to analyze their information.

To receive all orders reports, simply navigate to the below address:

Orders -> All Orders

click all orders menu

Then, open the search form and set a date range. 

Before generating the report, scroll down and find the Country field. Now, you can select some or all countries from the list to filter their information in the report.

For example, we filtered Canada and the United Kingdom in this report.

The order report related to the filtered countries will be displayed in the table when clicking the Search button.

Some of the most useful information provided in this report include:

  • Order ID
  • Customer Name
  • Date of order
  • Order country
  • Order Status
  • Payment method

Generate billing country report in WooCommerce

It is also possible to create a billing country report in our plugin by going to the below address in the plugin’s main menu:

More Reports -> Billing Country

After setting the date range in the search form and clicking on the search button:

You can receive a simple report with three columns:

  • Billing Country: A list of countries that you have received orders on the specified date.
  • Order count: The number of orders placed in each country.
  • Amount: The total amount of orders related to each country.

At the button of the page, you can see a useful summary report if you want to know the total number of countries you sold products in and the total sales amount.
