Convert simple product to variable in WooCommerce maybe need sometimes when you want to add a new attribute to your product. To change multi simple products to variable products in VBULKiT – Bulk Edit WooCommerce Variations – plugin very fast and easy you have two ways:
- Bulk edit.
- Bind edit.
This methods help you to speed up WooCommerce variations changes.
Before using “Bulk Edit” or “Bind Edit”, you need to filter simple products by doing below actions:
- Go to WordPress Dashboard > iThemeland > VBULKiT.
- Click on “Filter Form”.
- Go to “Type” tab.
- Open the list of “Product Type” by clicking on the combo box in front of it.
- Choose “Simple Product” from the list.
- Click on “Get products”.
Bulk edit simple products to variable products using bulk edit form
Now, all WooCommerce simple products are filtered and we can bulk edit their type by clicking on “Bulk Edit” button and continue as following:
- Go to “Type” tab.
- Open the combo box in front of “Product Type”.
- Select “Variable Product” from the list.
- Click on “Do Bulk Edit”.
Done! You have changed multi WooCommerce simple products to variable products in a few seconds.
Bulk edit simple products to variable products using bind edit
To use bind edit, you need to add product type column to the product table as below:
- Click on “Column Profile”.
- Mark “Product Type”.
- Click on “Apply To Table”.
Now, you just need to:
- Select all products in this page by marking checkbox next to ID.
- Mark “Bind Edit”.
- Open the combo box of “Product Type” in front of one of the products.
- Choose “Variable Product” from the list.
All of selected product will be changed to variable products and it’s possible to add some variations for them.
